Wine and tapas pairing, De Tapas por Galicia
One of those great phrases that I hear every time I identify myself as an avilesino is "How good you eat in the North!" And in a corner of the North of Spain is Galicia, which has extraordinary basic products, from the sea and from the garden, to satisfy the most demanding stomach with its cuisine. The tapas, those complete miniature dishes, have been the reason for my last trip through Galician lands, to discover the best tapas of Ferrol and Pontevedra.
From September to December the #DeTapasxGalicia event was held so that the bars, cafes and restaurants of the 7 main Galician cities show their inventiveness and know how to scale, at the scale of a cover. A considerable number of establishments participate in each city that have to offer customers a cover at a fixed price and that will be evaluated by a jury, in addition to the public being eligible for interesting and gastronomic prizes, depositing a ballot with their preference in the urn that is in each place or uploading their photos of the tapas to social networks.

The De Tapas por Galicia website collects information on each of the cities, the participants, their address and location on the map (also through QR on a smartphone) and the name of the cover with which they participate. Now also, because it has already finished, the name of the winning establishment in each city.
I have to say that in both Ferrol and Pontevedra the custom of offering a lid for free with each drink is extended. Therefore, if you do like me and do not eat with a dry mouth, try the humble and the contest, paired with the recommendation of the waiter (in Ferrol they are very red and sounded Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Mencia, Beer before that Albariño).
In Ferrol, the contest "Tapéate Ferrol" (organized by the association of businessmen and the mixed tourism society and held in June for the third time) had a special edition from December 4 to 8. In it, 28 stores have participated, from Cafeterias to Restaurants through Mesones and Gastrobares. And of those 28 places I went through 7 of them and I'm going to show you the tapas I tried, because they were my dinner (4) and my meal (3), each of them at a single price of 2 euros.
